Artist Cathy Della Lucia explores issues related to Asian American identity, (un)belonging 和 inheritance through the collection 和 imitation of everyday objects, 工具, 和 devices that have a habitual tactile connection with the body. 这次展览汇集了木材, 陶瓷, 和 3D printed modular objects 和 reliefs based on a series of drawings done in the Korean grocery store, H集市.

Contemporary Monuments to the Slave Past

Renée Ater is primary scholar of Meta Warrick Fuller, whose work is in the 丹佛斯艺术博物馆’s permanent exhibition. 因为她的远见, she highlighted this important African American sculptor 和 restored her to the 历史 of American art. She also coordinates the Contemporary Monuments to the Slave Past database, which is a model for digital humanities.

Cord Jefferson’s directorial debut is a satirical Molotov cocktail hurled at the commodification of Black 故事. This explosive adaptation of Percival Everett’s novel 擦除 (2001) tells the story of the writer-academic, 塞隆尼斯·“蒙克”·埃里森, as he deconstructs Hollywood 和 publishing’s grotesque appetite for palatable, stereotypical narratives about contemporary Black life.

The Linda Vaden-Goad Authors 和 Artists Series: Laura Kane & 劳拉·奥斯特

Laura Kane creates apparel design projects, such as transformable garments 和 those made from upcycled materials 和 fabrics. Her presentation will focus on this collaborative process. 劳拉·奥斯特 experiments with lipstick, makeup, 和 other mediums in her artwork. She will present pieces inspired by the cultures, 值, 风景, 故事, 和 traditions from a recent trip to Hawaii.
