Types of Grants

Federal grant designed for high-need undergraduate students pursuing their first bachelor's degree. The current maximum Pell Grant for a full-time student is $7,395.

Federally funded grant awarded by the FSU Financial Aid Office to high-need students. Available to undergraduate students enrolled at least half-time and pursuing their first bachelor's degree.

State grant awarded by the Massachusetts Office of Student Financial Assistance to high-need students. Available to undergraduate students enrolled full-time pursuing their first bachelor's degree. Must be a Massachusetts resident and file a FAFSA by May 1 each year to receive a MASSGrant.

A grant program available to Massachusetts residents who are middle or low-income as defined by the state. Students eligible for the Pell Grant may qualify for free tuition and fees and up to $1200 for books and supplies. Middle income students (roughly family income between $73,000 and $100,000) may qualify for up to half off tuition and fees if they are enrolled full-time (at least three courses at FSU).

MASSGrant Plus Expansion

Funded through the MA Cash Grant Program and awarded by the FSU Financial Aid Office. Available to undergraduate students pursuing their first bachelor's degree. Must be a Massachusetts resident and demonstrate financial need. Because we have limited funding in this program, on-time applicants are considered for this grant first.

State funded program awarded by the FSU Financial Aid Office. Available to undergraduate day school students pursuing their first bachelor's degree. Must be a Massachusetts resident and demonstrate financial need. Because we have limited funds in this program, students who apply on time and live on campus will be awarded this program first.

Institutional grant awarded by the FSU Financial Aid Office to undergraduate students who demonstrate financial need.
